Totti the former puppy mill producer has a happy ending with new family

When my past client whose dogs I photographed contacted me about shooting their new furkid, I was excited, as I always am when working with past clients. What I didn’t know at that time was just how much of an honor it would be to both spend time with, and photograph this darling animal.

Totti is a former puppy mill producer. She was found abandoned in a small crate with several other min-pins in a park in Juanita, Washington. She spent the first 8-9 years of her life as a money-maker for a local (unknown) puppy mill breeder, and now, at 10(ish) years old, she can’t stand or sit without falling over, lost all but 2 teeth, has permanent rub marks on her nose, and has trouble walking. She has lived through unspeakable tragedy.

The HAPPY ending to the story is now she has a *wonderful* family who love her deeply, and spoil her madly with anything she ever wants. She is just the sweetest, tiniest little thing, and I felt so lucky I had the opportunity to photograph her. I brought two big pieces of string cheese to our shoot, which she devoured with her remaining two teeth. I get great joy looking at these photos of her, thinking of how safe and warm and loved she is now, and I hope these photos bring that same joy to her new family who love her. Totti you are a very special girl.

Karen thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to photograph your precious girl, and also for giving her the love and companionship she has deserved all these years. I know how much you guys love her, and I think she feels the same way too. 🙂

  1. Thank you, Jamie, for sharing Totti’s story and your beautiful photographs! We love your work and your ability to connect with the furkids. You were so right on with the string cheese and the way you captured those beautiful moments with Totti. We are blessed to have the opportunity to work with you. Totti has changed our lives. We knew we were in trouble when Eden first spotted her at Homeward Pet and said “I have to adopt her.” We were all goners after that! Totti is our inspiration. She embodies strength, hope and spirit, and every day with her is a blessing. We love her, and we love you too! Thank you 🙂

  2. That smile is REAL! What a gorgeous girl–brings tears to my eyes to hear that this wonderful girl is FINALLY living the life she deserves! Thanks to Karen for providing her with the love and care!
